Very expected game in Vienna where 11th ranked Nord Dragonz (1-9) was rolled over by seventh ranked Flames (5-5) 92-68 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-68. Flames outrebounded Nord Dragonz 42-31 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Nord Dragonz's players. Naturalized Argentinian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) scored 23 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Slovenian center Fuad Memcic (209-82, agency: Promotex) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Flames players scored in double figures. At the losing side Hungarian guard Tamas Markus (180-89) responded with 14 points and 6 assists and power forward Lukas Knor (197-1) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Flames moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Piraten and Mustangs. Nord Dragonz lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with nine games lost. Flames will meet BBU (#10) in the next round. Nord Dragonz will play against Deutsch-Wagram and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
