Regular Season Round 11: Bayrakli - Yalova Vip 86-74

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Bayrakli (9-2) won against at home 15th ranked Yalova Vip (2-9) 86-74 on Friday. Bayrakli dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Yalova Vip's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Yalova Vip's players. It was a great evening for forward Eyfel Akar (185-87, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) helped adding 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks. Bayrakli's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Merve Alkis (172-94, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) responded with 22 points and 7 rebounds and Ukrainian center Olena Staschuk (192-85) scored 21 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bayrakli moved-up to second place, which they share with Aci Koleji. Loser Yalova Vip dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Istanbul U.G. Bayrakli will meet Istanbulgucu (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Yalova Vip will play against Nesibe (#10) and hope to secure a win.
