Regular Season Round 13: Nevezis - Lietkabelis 68-83

Very predictable result in Kedainiai where fourth ranked Lietkabelis (9-4) defeated 9th ranked Nevezis (2-11) 83-68. The game was mostly controlled by Lietkabelis. Nevezis was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lietkabelis dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 26. They outrebounded Nevezis 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Nevezis helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a very good performance for American-Finnish point guard Jamar Wilson (185-84, college: Albany) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian guard Stefan Sinovec (195-88, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Lietkabelis players scored in double figures. American point guard Chauncey Collins (183-95, college: TCU, agency: Alti Sport) answered with 25 points and 5 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and Russian forward Nikita Balashov (207-91, agency: Alti Sport) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Lietkabelis moved-up to third place, which they share with Rytas. Nevezis lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Lietkabelis' next round opponent will be Juventus (#5) in Utena. Nevezis will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) and hope to win that game.
