No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Akhisar Bld (5-4) defeated on the road 15th ranked Yalova Bld (2-7) 81-74 on Friday. They outrebounded Yalova Bld 31-20 including 20 on the defensive glass. Tufan Onen (202-89) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) for the winners and American power forward Curtis Kelly (208-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Onur Sonsirma (190-85, agency: 1x1 Sports) with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Mert Konuk (192-0) scored 17 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Akhisar Bld. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sigortam.net ITU and Yeni Mamak. Yalova Bld lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Final Spor and Ankara DSI. Akhisar Bld will meet at home Socar Petkim (#10) in the next round. Yalova Bld will play against Final Spor in Bursa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
