Regular Season Round 13: Wusterhausen - Stade 89-107

Round 13 in Regionalliga ended with 4 & very close games. The first one was a victory of Stade over 8th ranked WSG Koenigs 107-89 on Saturday night. Stade shot 62.3 percent from the field and made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. Strangely WSG Koenigs outrebounded Stade 32-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by WSG Koenigs helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Janis Stielow (193-95) who helped to win the game recording 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). American forward Reco McCarter (198-90, college: Campbell) contributed with 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Christoph Tetzner (201-81) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and point guard Alexander Giese (180-94) added 13 points and 4 assists in the effort for WSG Koenigs. Five Stade and four WSG Koenigs players scored in double figures. Stade (7-6) moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Rendsburg. WSG Koenigs at the other side keep the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Bergedorf and Neustadt TSV. Stade is looking forward to face Neustadt TSV (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. WSG Koenigs will play against ALBA-2 in Berlin and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
