Regular Season Round 6: Rivne - Interkhim 81-70

Rather expected game when 6th ranked Interkhim (5-5) lost on the road to fourth ranked BK Rivne (6-6) 81-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BK Rivne. Interkhim was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BK Rivne forced 25 Interkhim turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for guard Viktoriya Shmatova (170-87) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 assists. Forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (180-84) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. BK Rivne's coach Valeriy Zhartun allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Natalia Kolotovska (173-90) replied with 18 points and 7 assists and power forward Marharyta Hliebova (186-96) added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Interkhim. BK Rivne maintains fourth position with 6-6 record. Loser Interkhim keeps the sixth place with five games lost. BK Rivne will face SBK Lviv (#7) on the road in the next round. Interkhim will play against the league's leader Dynamo-NPU and hope to win that game.
