Regular Season Round 10: Giessen 46ers - Vechta 83-84

The most exciting game of round 10 in the BBL took place in Giessen. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Giessen 46ers (6-4) to sixth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (6-4) 84-83 in the game for the sixth place. The game was dominated by American players. Seth Hinrichs (201-93, college: Lafayette) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Austin Hollins (196-91, college: Minnesota) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. SC Rasta Vechta's coach Pedro Calles used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Center John Bryant (211-87, college: Santa Clara) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Brandon Thomas (198-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Interperformances) added 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Five SC Rasta Vechta and four Giessen 46ers players scored in double figures. SC Rasta Vechta have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted SC Rasta Vechta maintains sixth position with 6-4 record, which they share with defeated Giessen 46ers. Giessen 46ers lost third consecutive game. SC Rasta Vechta is looking forward to face ratiopharm Ulm (#10) at home in the next round. Giessen 46ers will play against BBC Bayreuth (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
