Regular Season Round 6: Frankivsk - SBK Lviv 86-74

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Frankivsk (5-2) won against 7th ranked SBK Lviv (2-6) in Ivano-Frankivsk 86-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Frankivsk. SBK Lviv was better in third quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frankivsk forced 19 SBK Lviv turnovers. Strangely SBK Lviv outrebounded Frankivsk 43-28 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for the former international guard Arina Bilotserkivska (170-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 12 assists and 6 steals. The former international forward Olena Ogorodnikova (187-81) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Viktoriya Babych (183-99) replied with 26 points and 8 rebounds and the former international swingman Krystyna Matsko (182-91) added 19 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for SBK Lviv. Four SBK Lviv players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Frankivsk maintains fifth position with 5-2 record. SBK Lviv lost fifth consecutive game. SBK Lviv at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh place with six games lost. Frankivsk will face Vinnystkiye M. (#8) in Vinnytsia in the next round. SBK Lviv will play at home against BK Rivne and hope to win that game.
