Regular Season Round 20: Taurages - Perlas 101-95

We should mention about the upset which took place in Taurage, where higher ranked Perlas (11-8) lost to twelfth ranked Taurages (7-12) in a road game 95-101 on Saturday. Taurages had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Taurages especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 7 assists (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Raidas Nacius (198-91) who added 18 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Forward Simas Jarumbauskas (197-0, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Karolis Giedraitis (194-98) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Five Taurages and four Perlas players scored in double figures. Perlas' coach Arvydas Gronskis tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Taurages have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Despite that victory Taurages went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Loser Perlas dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. Taurages will meet at home higher ranked Neptunas-Akv. (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Perlas will play against KTU and hope to secure a win.
