No shocking result in a game in Quakenbrueck where seventh ranked Nuernberg (6-5) defeated 13th ranked Artland Dragons (5-8) 84-78 on Saturday. Nuernberg forced 20 Artland Dragons turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American guard Jackson Kent (201-93, college: JMU) fired 32 points and 4 assists for the winners. Hungarian point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American forward Demetris Morant (206-92, college: FGCU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Chase Griffin (190-83, college: Pepperdine) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nuernberg maintains seventh place with 6-5 record. Artland Dragons lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Nuernberg will face Baunach (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Artland Dragons will play against the league's leader Chemnitz having rather not much hope for a victory.
