Regular Season Round 16: Zolotoi Vek - Dnipro-2 107-98

There was no surprise in Kirovograd where 8th ranked Dnipro-2 (2-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Zolotoi Vek (5-9) 107-98 on Saturday. Dnipro-2 trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 27-24 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 98-107 at the end of the game. Zolotoi Vek made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Dnipro-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Olexandr Drobiazko (200-93) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 7 rebounds (on 14-of-16 shooting from the field) and guard Mikita Miz (191-90) who added 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Ihor Dubonenko (197-98) responded with 30 points and 4 steals and Oleksandr Koval (202-99) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zolotoi Vek have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 5-9 record. Dnipro-2 lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Kremen and Kyiv Basket 2. Zolotoi Vek will again meet at home Dnipro-2 (#8) in the next round. Dnipro-2 will have a break next round.
