Regular Season Round 13: Ansbach - Rosenheim 87-84

Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Ansbach (6-6) edged at home 12th ranked Rosenheim (3-9) 87-84 on Saturday. Rosenheim was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Croatian point guard Goran Petrovic (184-77) contributed with 21 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Italian forward Roberto Malpede (198-88) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and American point guard Jguwon Hogges (173-86, college: Oregon Tech) added 15 points in the effort for Rosenheim. Rosenheim's coach Bob Miller rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ansbach moved-up to sixth place in South-East, which they share with 3 other teams. Rosenheim lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Ansbach will face league's leader Topstar in Diedorf in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rosenheim will play at home against Herzogenaurach (#6) and hope to win that game.
