Very expected game when 16th ranked Galatasaray G. (1-10) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Akdeniz U. (6-5) 63-54 on Saturday. Akdeniz U. outrebounded Galatasaray G. 54-36 including a 39-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American point guard Brene Moseley (170, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 14 rebounds. Center Basak Altunbey (189-96) helped adding 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sude Yilmaz (178-2, agency: FlyBasketball) responded with 8 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Eda Sahin (169-99) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Galatasaray G.'s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Akdeniz U.. Newly promoted Akdeniz U. maintains seventh place with 6-5 record, which they share with Istanbulgucu and Mardin BSB. Galatasaray G. lost their tenth game in a row. Galatasaray G. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Akdeniz U. will meet higher ranked Urla BLD (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
