Regular Season Round 16: Kharkivski Sokoly - Mariupol 78-64

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Mariupol (8-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kharkivski Sokoly (9-3) 78-64 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kharkivski Sokoly. Mariupol managed to win fourth quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mariupol 49-37 including a 35-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Roman Olkhovskyi (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 9 rebounds and guard Yaroslav Udodenko (187-87) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Kharkivski Sokoly players scored in double figures. At the losing side Oleksandr Biella (201-95) responded with 7 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ivan Mikhyeyev (190-99) scored 16 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kharkivski Sokoly have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-3 record having six points less than leader Prometey. Mariupol lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Kharkivski Sokoly will again meet at home Mariupol (#5) in the next round. Mariupol will have a break next round.
