Very expected game in Istanbul where 14th ranked Banvit (2-7) was defeated by sixth ranked Galatasaray (5-4) 86-76 on Saturday. Galatasaray looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Greek-American center Zach Auguste (208-93, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Goksenin Koksal (195-91) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American center Jordan Morgan (203-91, college: Michigan) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Banvit players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 5-4 record, which they share with Gaziantep. Loser Banvit dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. Galatasaray will face Sakarya BSB (#8) on the road in the next round. Banvit will play against Darussafaka (#11) and hope to win that game.
