Regionalliga top team - Wolmirstedt (11-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Aschersleben (5-7) 90-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aschersleben. It was a very good performance for Lithuanian forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Julius Stahl (195-95) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Coach Ralf Rehberger's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Pakistani Salman Manzur (205-96) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and French guard Jordan Aboki (190-93) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Aschersleben. The victory was the third consecutive win for Wolmirstedt. Newly promoted Wolmirstedt maintains first place in North with 11-2 record. Loser Aschersleben keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Wolmirstedt will face Langenhagen (#4) at home in the next round. Aschersleben will play against Cuxhaven (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
