No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Politekhn.Lvov (6-10) defeated on the road 9th ranked Kyiv Basket 2 (2-12) 79-74 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 24-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Politekhn.Lvov outrebounded Kyiv Basket 2 48-33 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Pavlo Kych (202-98) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Denys Tiutiunyk (195-92) who added 9 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Oleksandr Sydoruk (187-1) responded with 23 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Sergey Shevtchenko (202-95) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Kyiv Basket 2's coach Maxim Balashov rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Politekhn.Lvov maintains fifth position with 6-10 record. Newly promoted Kyiv Basket 2 dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Dnipro-2 and Kremen. Politekhn.Lvov will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyiv Basket 2 will play again against Politekhn.Lvov (#5) and hope to secure a win.
