Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Steaua B. (3-5) lost on the road to third ranked Oradea (6-3) 92-83 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Steaua B. won third quarter 24-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Oradea shot 62.7 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. International point guard Giordan Watson (178-85, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: BeoBasket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Bosnian guard Muhamed Pasalic (192-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) contributed with 22 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (198-89) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Croatian guard Ante Delas (200-88) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Steaua B.Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Oradea. Defending champion maintains third place with 6-3 record behind leader Voluntari. Steaua B. lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. Oradea will have a break next round. Steaua B. will play on the road against the league's leader Craiova (#1) and hope to win that game.
