Regular Season Round 10: Gmunden - Vienna 67-69

Date: December 9, 2018
Important game to mention about took place in Gmunden. Seventh ranked Hallmann (4-6) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging much higher ranked Gmunden Swans (8-2) 69-67 on Sunday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It looked good early as Gmunden Swans took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hallmann had a 21-12 second period charge getting the lead and Gmunden Swans were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-69. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Luka Gvozden (184-93) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward David Haughton (198-91, college: Purchase) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Five Hallmann players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) replied with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and international forward Toni Blazan (195-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) added 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Gmunden Swans. Hallmann maintains seventh position with 4-6 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. They share the position with Arkadia. Hallmann will play against Raiffeisen Flyers Wels (#9) at home in the next round. Gmunden Swans will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#10) and hope to get back on the winning track.
