Regular Season Round 10: Mazeikiu SM - Vilniaus KM II 87-70

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Vilniaus KM II (4-4) lost to fifth ranked Mazeikiu SM (6-4) in Mazeikiai 70-87. The game was mostly controlled by Mazeikiu SM. Vilniaus KM II was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mazeikiu SM forced 19 Vilniaus KM II turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Vilniaus KM II's players. Guard Kasparas Sion (185-2) fired a double-double by scoring 14 points, 9 rebounds, 13 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Guard Klaidas Lobanovas (189-1) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Mazeikiu SM players scored in double figures. Mazeikiu SM's coach Vidmantas Bertys allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Mantas Bilotas (-1) produced 23 points and 8 rebounds and Martynas Normantas (194-1) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Mazeikiu SM have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Mazeikiu SM went down to sixth position due to points difference. Vilniaus KM II lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with four games lost. Mazeikiu SM's next round opponent will be Zalgiris U18 (#10) in Kaunas. Vilniaus KM II will play at home against Silutes SM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
