Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Darussafaka (#3) and Besiktas (#7). Darussafaka (9-1) crushed visiting Besiktas (3-7) by 25 points 80-55. Darussafaka forced 21 Besiktas turnovers. The best player for the winners was Canberk Basduran (-1) who scored 21 points. Forward Engin Kalkan (203-0) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Darussafaka players scored in double figures. Ege Sun (-0) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and Cagdas Kayabasi (-0) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Darussafaka have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Besiktas lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Darussafaka will meet Selcuklu (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Besiktas will play against Adatip Sakarya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
