Regular Season Round 12: Bernau - BSW Sixers 85-67

The game in Bernau was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Sixers (7-5) played at the court of seventh ranked SSV Lok Bernau (6-6). SSV Lok Bernau did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-67 on Sunday. SSV Lok Bernau dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Sixers' 22 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. SSV Lok Bernau forced 19 Sixers turnovers and outrebounded them 38-21 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. SSV Lok Bernau looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sixers' players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Quadir Welton (203-95, college: St.Peter's) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Bennet Hundt (178-98, college: High School) chipped in 16 points. Four SSV Lok Bernau players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian Eimantas Stankevicius (190-98, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Terrence Williams (198-93, college: Charlotte) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Sixers' coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. SSV Lok Bernau moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Schwelm. Newly promoted Sixers dropped to the third position with five games lost. SSV Lok Bernau will face higher ranked Muenster (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sixers will play against Oldenburg and hope to win that game.
