There was an upset in Ulm where higher ranked OrangeAcademy (6-6) was edged by tenth ranked Giessen 46ers II (5-7) 76-75 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was point guard Bjarne Kraushaar (190-99) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-87) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) who recorded 18 points and power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) added 11 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four OrangeAcademy players scored in double figures. OrangeAcademy's coach Daniel Jansson tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Giessen 46ers II have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with Coburg and Wuerzburg. OrangeAcademy lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Giessen 46ers II will face higher ranked Fraport Skyliners II (#3) in Frankfurt in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. OrangeAcademy will play on the road against FC Bayern II in Muenchen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
