Very expected game when 9th ranked Gargzdu (8-11) lost on the road to second ranked Palanga (14-5) 70-65. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Palanga outrebounded Gargzdu 47-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. 28 personal fouls committed by Gargzdu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was center Aurimas Majauskas (202-93, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Spenser Mitchell (203-92, college: St.Leo) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Laurynas Lucinskas (201-93) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds and Vaidotas Peciukas (198-82, college: Hawaii) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Gargzdu's coach Simonas Serapinas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Palanga maintains second place with 14-5 record behind leader Suduva-Mantinga. Gargzdu lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Palanga's next round opponent will be Delikatesas (#4) in Joniskis. Gargzdu will play at home against Perlas (#6) and hope to win that game.
