Regular Season Round 14: Chemnitz - Art.Dragons 75-84

The most surprising game was the first loss of Chemnitz (12-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Artland Dragons (6-8) 84-75. It ended at the same time the 15-game winning streak of Chemnitz. American forward Demetris Morant (206-92, college: FGCU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Paul Albrecht (205-93) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Morant is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Robin Lodders (205-94) replied with 16 points and American forward Kavin Gilder-Tilbury (201-94, college: Texas St.) added 14 points in the effort for Chemnitz. Five Artland Dragons and four Chemnitz players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Walter Tigers and Karlsruhe PS. Chemnitz at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Artland Dragons is looking forward to face higher ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (#8) in Allmendingen in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chemnitz will play on the road against Kirchheim Knights (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
