Regular Season Round 12: Urla BLD - Akdeniz U. 93-87

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Urla BLD (9-3) won against 9th ranked Akdeniz U. (6-6) in Izmir 93-87 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Urla BLD made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for forward Ayse Akinci (175-82, agency: 1andBox Sports Agency) who led her team to a victory with 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Urla BLD players scored in double figures. American point guard Brene Moseley (170, college: Maryland, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 47 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Belgin Onbasi (177-82) added 15 points in the effort for Akdeniz U.Urla BLD moved-up to third place, which they share with Elazig and Aci Koleji. Newly promoted Akdeniz U. dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Urla BLD will face Istanbul U.G (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Akdeniz U. will play against Elazig (#4) and hope to win that game.
