Regular Season Round 11: Mustangs - Lions 68-79

Date: December 15, 2018
The game in Mistelbach was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Lions (7-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Mustangs (5-6). Lions defeated Mustangs 79-68 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Mustangs. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Spanish forward Javier Medori (202-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Timur Bas (200-94, college: Walsh) accounted for 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Lions' coach Borja San Miguel used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Czech swingman Michal Kremen (198-81, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and Czech center Ivo Prachar (210-82) added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Mustangs in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Lions. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UBC. Loser Mustangs dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Piraten. Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Mustangs will play again against Lions (#5) in Dornbirn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
