Regular Season Round 14: Schwabing - Muenchen OSB 83-80

Important game to mention about took place in Schwabing. Eighth ranked Schwabing (7-6) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Muenchen OSB (7-6) 83-80 in the game for the fifth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Muenchen OSB. Schwabing players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Muenchen OSB was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Nick Freer (198-85, college: Grand Valley St.) notched 21 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and Isaiah Ihnen (205-0) supported him with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Four Schwabing players scored in double figures. Schwabing's coach Robert Scheinberg allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by Spanish forward Oscar Gonzalez (200-97) did not help to save the game for Muenchen OSB. American guard Omari Knox (188-86, college: Bloomfield) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Schwabing moved-up to fifth place in South-East, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Muenchen OSB. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
