The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked SC Rist Wedel (9-4) in Bochum on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by third ranked SparkassenStars (8-5) 85-73. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Felix Engel (191-91) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. American guard Montrael Scott (190-93, college: Prairie View A&M) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. SparkassenStars' coach Gary Johnson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Ryan Logan (201-94, college: Stonehill) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Nigerian guard Osaro Rich-Igbineweka (187-98) added 17 points in the effort for SC Rist Wedel. Five SparkassenStars and four SC Rist Wedel players scored in double figures. SparkassenStars moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Muenster and Iserlohn. SC Rist Wedel at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. SparkassenStars is looking forward to face Itzehoe (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SC Rist Wedel will play against Muenster (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
