No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Elazig (9-3) crushed at home 12th ranked Mersin Gelisim (3-9) 100-64 on Saturday. Elazig dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Mersin Gelisim's 38. They outrebounded Mersin Gelisim 42-15 including a 15-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Elazig especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Mersin Gelisim's players. It was a good game for Canadian center Abigail Fogg (196-94, college: S.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Asli Sevinc (178-79, agency: FlyBasketball) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Elazig's coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Dejza James (185-95, college: Arizona) replied with 29 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Melisa Korkmaz (172-97) added 16 points and 5 assists in the effort for Mersin Gelisim. Elazig moved-up to third place, which they share with Urla BLD and Aci Koleji. Loser Mersin Gelisim keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Elazig will face Akdeniz U. (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Mersin Gelisim will play against Edremit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
