Regular Season Round 10: Edirne - Ankara DSI 71-75

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Ankara D.S.I. and 14th ranked Edirne had identical 2-7 record. But Edirne was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Ankara 75-71. Ankara D.S.I. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Edirne's players. American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Kaan Sariaslan (193-97) chipped in 22 points. Swingman Gokturk Ural (196-95) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and center Ismail Esmeray (207-86) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Ankara D.S.I. and five Edirne players scored in double figures. Ankara D.S.I. (3-7) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Final Spor. Edirne lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with eight games lost. Ankara D.S.I.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Selcuklu (#8) at home and it may be quite challenging game. Edirne will play against the league's leader Karesi Spor (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
