Regular Season Round 18: Kharkivski Sokoly - Niko-Basket 74-68

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Niko-Basket (8-6) was defeated on the road by second ranked Kharkivski Sokoly (12-3) 74-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kharkivski Sokoly led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was guard Yaroslav Udodenko (187-87) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Roman Olkhovskyi (196-90) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Kharkivski Sokoly players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Mark Bodnar (185-98) who recorded 18 points and forward Vadim Zaplotinskiy (200-97) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Niko-Basket's coach Valentin Berestnev tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kharkivski Sokoly have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-3 record having just three points less than leader Prometey. Loser Niko-Basket keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Kharkivski Sokoly will face Kremen (#9) in Kremenchuk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Niko-Basket will play on the road against the league's leader Prometey (#1) in Kamianske and hope to win that game.
