Regular Season Round 11: Svendborg - Wolfpack/BMS 90-76

Date: December 15, 2018
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when second-ranked BMS Skovlunde (3-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Svendborg (9-3) 90-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. BMS Skovlunde was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Svendborg won last quarter 30-18. They also forced 20 BMS Skovlunde turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Sebastian Petersen (188-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Deionte Simmons (205-96, college: Chicago St.) produced 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Oliver Stroh (192-94, college: Shippensburg) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Svendborg and four BMS Skovlunde players scored in double figures. BMS Skovlunde's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Svendborg moved-up to second place, which they share with Horsens IC. Loser BMS Skovlunde keeps the second position with seven games lost. Svendborg will have a break next round. BMS Skovlunde will play at home against the league's leader Bakken and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
