Regular Season Round 14: Deutzer - Salzkotten 90-88

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Salzkotten (3-10) was edged on the road by thirteenth ranked Deutzer (3-10) 90-88 on Saturday. Deutzer forced 23 Salzkotten turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Salzkotten's players. Florian Schulz (196) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Patrick Reusch (185-93) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Five Deutzer players scored in double figures. Point guard Dominik Wolf (185-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Matthias Finke (190-87) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Deutzer moved-up to twelfth place in West, which they share with defeated Salzkotten. Salzkotten lost third consecutive game. Deutzer will face Kamp-Lintfort (#14) at home in the next round.
