Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Istanbul: Galatasaray (#6) and Istanbul Uni (#3). Galatasaray (6-3) won against visiting Istanbul Uni (0-9) 74-59. Galatasaray forced 20 Istanbul Uni turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American point guard Moriah Jefferson (170-94, college: Connecticut) nailed 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side and her fellow American import power forward Victoria Macaulay (193-90, college: Temple) accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Feride Sevval (180-1) came up with 17 points and 5 assists and international center Ilayda Guner (186-99, agency: FlyBasketball) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Uni in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Galatasaray have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Botas. Istanbul Uni at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Kircicegi B.. Galatasaray will play against league's second-placed Hatay on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul Uni will play against Kircicegi B. and hopes to get finally their first victory.
