The game in Muenchen was also quite interesting. 5th ranked OrangeAcademy (6-7) played at the court of sixth ranked FC Bayern II (7-6). FC Bayern II managed to secure a 6-point victory 76-70 on Saturday. FC Bayern II forced 22 OrangeAcademy turnovers. It was a very good performance for point guard Nelson Weidemann (190-99) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 5 rebounds. Croatian Matej Rudan (204-1, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Christoph Philipps (203-98) answered with 16 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and naturalized Austrian point guard Timo Lanmueller (190-1) added 15 points in the effort for OrangeAcademy. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. FC Bayern II moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Elchingen and Loewen. OrangeAcademy lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. FC Bayern II will face Loewen (#5) in Erfurt in the next round. OrangeAcademy will play on the road against Fraport Skyliners II in Frankfurt and hope to win that game and get promotion back to the ProA just one year after relegation.
