Regular Season Round 13: BSW Sixers - Oldenburg 71-80

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Oldenburg (6-7) beat higher ranked Sixers (7-6) in Sandersdorf 80-71 on Sunday. Oldenburg forced 19 Sixers turnovers and outrebounded them 39-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. Sixers were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for naturalized Bosnian point guard Robert Drijencic (194-96) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Pruitt is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. Lithuanian Eimantas Stankevicius (190-98, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Ferdinand Zylka (190-98, agency: BeoBasket) added 24 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Sixers. Oldenburg moved-up to seventh place in North, which they share with 3 other teams. Sixers lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the fifth position with six games lost. Oldenburg will face SSV Lok Bernau (#7) at home in the next round. Sixers will play against Titans in Dresden and hope to win that game.
