Regular Season Round 14: Bamberg - Goldbach 75-69

There was no surprise when 14th ranked Goldbach (2-11) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Bamberg (6-7) 75-69 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Bamberg forced 21 Goldbach turnovers. Goldbach was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Robert Ferguson (203-85, college: St.Joseph's) scored 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Kevin Jefferson (175-96) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Four Bamberg players scored in double figures. British Jermaine Mellis (197) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Jakob Jessberger (187-99) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Goldbach's coach Matthias Schaefer rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bamberg moved-up to ninth place in South-East, which they share with Vilsbiburg. Newly promoted Goldbach keeps the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
