Regular Season Round 11: Gruenberg - B.Loewen 42-71

An interesting game for B.Loewen (10-1) which played road game in Gruenberg against 4th placed Baskets Grunberg (7-4). Second ranked B.Loewen had an easy win 71-42. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Baskets Grunberg. B.Loewen held Baskets Grunberg to an opponent 20.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.9 percent accuracy of the winners. B.Loewen had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for guard Tatiana Tenorio-Haynes (175-91, college: Angelo St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American Marquisha Harris (180-93, college: W.Michigan) accounted for 15 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Forward Stella Reichert (185) came up with 7 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Amy Patton (178-91, college: N.Arizona) added 8 points respectively for Baskets Grunberg in the defeat. Baskets Grunberg's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. B.Loewen have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Osnabrueck SC lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position in North. Loser Baskets Grunberg keeps the fourth place with four games lost. B.Loewen will meet TG Neuss (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Baskets Grunberg will play against the league's leader Osnabrueck SC and hope to secure a win.
