Very important is a road loss of first ranked Mersin BSB (3-6) against eighth ranked Ormanspor (5-4) on Sunday night. Visiting Mersin BSB was defeated by Ormanspor in a tough game in Ankara 69-73. Ormanspor made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Ormanspor outrebounded Mersin BSB 42-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA, agency: FlyBasketball) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Her fellow American import center Aneika Henry-Morello (193-86, college: Florida) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Four Ormanspor players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian power forward Gintare Petronyte (196-89) who recorded 19 points and 7 rebounds and American-Romanian power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Ormanspor moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Besiktas and Izmit. Mersin BSB lost their fifth game in a row. They still keep top position with six games lost. They share it with Adana Basket. Ormanspor will meet higher ranked Botas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mersin BSB will play against the league's leader Adana Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
