No shocking result in a game in Ankara where fourth ranked Turk Telekom (7-3) defeated bottom-ranked Istanbul BBSK (2-8) 89-84. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was an exceptional evening for American-Austrian swingman Sylven Landesberg (198-90, college: Virginia, agency: BeoBasket) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. International Metin Turen (206-94) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Turk Telekom's coach Burak Goren allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international power forward Semih Erden (211-86) came up with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Bulgarian forward Yordan Minchev (202-98) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Istanbul BBSK in the defeat. Four Turk Telekom and five Istanbul BBSK players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Turk Telekom. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Istanbul BBSK at the other side stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be Afyon Bld (#13) in Afyonkarahisar and are hoping to win another game. Istanbul BBSK will play at home against Buyukcekmece and hope to win that game.
