Regular Season Round 11: B.Muenchen - ALBA 83-81

The most exciting game of round 11 in the BBL took place in Muenchen. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked ALBA Berlin (8-2) to leader Bayern Muenchen (11-0) 83-81 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ALBA Berlin. Strangely ALBA Berlin outrebounded Bayern Muenchen 36-19 including 24 on the defensive glass. American forward Derrick Williams (203-91, college: Arizona) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 5 rebounds. International guard Maodo Lo (191-92, college: Columbia) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Four Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. Lithuanian Rokas Giedraitis (201-92) answered with 22 points and Cameroonian center Landry Nnoko (208-94, college: Clemson) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for ALBA Berlin. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bayern Muenchen have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 11-0 record. ALBA Berlin at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Brose Bask. and EWE Baskets. Bayern Muenchen are looking forward to face s Oliver Baskets (#13) in Wuerzburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ALBA Berlin will play at home against Giessen 46ers (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
