Regular Season Round 12: Tofas - TAC NEF 89-75

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tarsus (3-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Tofas (8-2) 89-75 on Sunday. Tofas outrebounded Tarsus 49-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Batin Tuna (196-3) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Emirhan Merdin (195-1) chipped in 22 points. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Faik Kasikci (-0) who recorded 24 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and Murat Guzelocak (-1) added 20 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tofas have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Banvit. Tarsus lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with seven games lost. Tofas will face league's leader Anadolu Efes in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tarsus will play against Ozel Gelisim Koleji (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
