Very predictable result in Istanbul where third ranked Fenerbahce (7-2) smashed 9th ranked Canik Belediye (4-5) 90-62 on Sunday. Fenerbahce had a 28-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Fenerbahce looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Canik Belediye's players. French-American guard Bria Hartley (173-92, college: Connecticut) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 assists for the winners and American center Kiah Stokes (191-93, college: Connecticut) chipped in 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Kai James (196-95, college: Florida St.) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Italian-Australian guard Nicole Romeo (168-89, college: Washington) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Fenerbahce. Defending champion maintains third place with 7-2 record having just four point less than leader Adana Basket. Canik Belediye lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Fenerbahce's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Besiktas.
