Regular Season Round 13: Timisoara - Pitesti 99-83

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Pitesti (3-6) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Timisoara (3-6) 99-83 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Timisoara. Pitesti was better in third quarter 24-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Brandon Randolph (188-95, college: Utah Valley) fired 24 points (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Ukrainian power forward Maxym Korniyenko (205-87) produced 17 points and Croatian swingman Ivan Siriscevic (198-87, agency: PEPI SPORT) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pitesti's coach Florin Nini rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Timisoara moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Pitesti. Timisoara will face league's second-placed Sibiu at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pitesti will play against Steaua B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
