Regular Season Round 11: Vilniaus KM II - Silutes SM 90-73

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Vilniaus KM II (6-5) defeated at home 10th ranked Silutes SM (2-9) 90-73 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Vilniaus KM II. Silutes SM managed to win second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Silutes SM 49-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. Vilniaus KM II looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Silutes SM's players. The best player for the winners was Augustinas Mikstas (198-1) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Nojus Bieliauskas (189-1) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Vilniaus KM II players scored in double figures. Dovydas Rimkus (193-1) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Kajus Gerulaitis (179-1) added 10 points and 5 steals respectively for the guests. Vilniaus KM II maintains seventh place with 6-5 record. Silutes SM lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Tornado KM and Zalgiris U18. Vilniaus KM II will meet at home higher ranked Perkunas (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Silutes SM will play against Zalgiris U18 (#11) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
