Regular Season Round 12: Randers - Naestved 85-81

Date: December 19, 2018
The game in Randers was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Naestved (7-6) played at the court of fifth ranked Randers (7-5). Randers managed to secure a 4-point victory 85-81 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Naestved won fourth quarter 19-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Naestved outrebounded Randers 39-26 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by the former international forward Chris Nielsen (193-85) who scored that evening 28 points and 4 assists and American forward Brantley Bynum (196, college: San Francisco St.) supported him with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) by Israeli center Anton Shoutvin (206-89) did not help to save the game for Naestved. International Philip Hertz (195-92, college: Rio Grande) added 17 points and 10 rebounds. Five Randers and four Naestved players scored in double figures. Randers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Naestved lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Randers will meet league's leader EBAA in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Naestved will play against the league's leader Bakken (#1) and hope to secure a win.
