The game with biggest result difference took place in Herne. Local Herner TC (10-1) outscored 10th ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (3-9) 82-61 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of ChemCats Chemnitz. Herner TC dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ChemCats Chemnitz's 30 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a quality performance of Dutch power forward Loyce Bettonvil (185-93) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 5 rebounds. Australian power forward Natalie Burton (194-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Herner TC's coach Marek Piotrowski felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Jasmine Smith (183-94, college: San Jose St.) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Maya Hood (178-94, college: San Diego) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Herner TC have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain second place with 10-1 record behind leader Marburg. Loser ChemCats Chemnitz keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Herner TC will meet Goettingen (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against Braunschweig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
