The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Pitesti's (4-6) home victory over 7th ranked Steaua B. (3-8) 92-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Pitesti. Steaua B. was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian forward Zarko Djuric (198-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and Croatian guard Ante Delas (200-88) added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Steaua B.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pitesti moved-up to fifth place. Steaua B. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with eight games lost. Pitesti will face CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#8) on the road in the next round. Steaua B. will play against Timisoara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
