Regular Season Round 14: Constanta - Braila 120-33

An interesting game for Constanta (4-5) which hosted in Constanta one of their biggest challengers Braila (0-10). Third ranked Constanta had an easy win 120-33. The game without a history. Constanta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Braila to just 4 points in first quarter and to 12 points in first half. Constanta held Braila to an opponent 18.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 67.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Constanta forced 20 Braila turnovers and outrebounded them 46-25 including a 39-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 34 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Braila's players. Constanta brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American Deondre Ray (196, college: Cameron) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Alin Andries (196-91) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Constanta players scored in double figures. Constanta's coach Alexandru Olteanu felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Florin Voiculet produced 8 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Vlad Popescu (192-93) added 4 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted Constanta maintains third position with 4-5 record having five points less than leader Phoenix Galati. Braila at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with ten games lost. Constanta's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Voluntari and it will be for sure the game of the week.
